7 Ways to Increase Your Expectation

“What do you expect?”  Over and over, God kept bringing that same question to my mind.

As I was praying this morning God kept asking me “What do you expect?”

That expression usually means somebody didn’t get what they were suppose to get or somebody didn’t do what they were suppose to do.

God lead me to something powerful about the question:

“What do you expect?” is a trick of the devil.  But hallelujah, God showed me how you can take the devil’s trick and turn it into a treat.  The Lord gave me a word that I know is for you.

“The reason my children are not receiving from me is because they don’t expect to.  Their expectations are based on what their friends’ think . . . what their family has to say. . .what the world has to offer.

“They expect to have their needs met for a day. . .I want to meet their needs forever.  They expect to get over a cold. . .I expect them to walk in divine health.  They expect to have enough money for the rent. . .I expect them to have a new house paid in full.  They expect to have enough money for the car payment. . .I expect them to pay cash for a car.  They expect their children to stay out of trouble. . .I expect them to live righteous lives.

“Tell my children. . .they need to raise their level of expectation.  They need to walk in the miraculous expectation of my best.  Nothing is too difficult for me.”

God allowed me to see exactly what He was talking about in Acts 3:1-6.  Peter and John were going to the synagogue at 3 p.m. in the afternoon.

“A certain man lame from his mother’s womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple. . .to ask alms of them that entered in. . .Who seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple asked an alms.

“And Peter, fastening his eyes upon him with John said, Look on us.

“And he [the beggar] gave heed unto them, expecting to receive something of them.”

Did you catch that. . .the beggar was expecting to receive something from Peter and John.  He was looking to a man to meet his needs. . .to put food on his table. . .to pay his bills.  But that day, he got something that lasted him a lifetime. . .the beggar was touched by the power of the Holy Ghost.

“Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none: but such as I have give I thee. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.”

Peter raised that beggar’s expectation.  The beggar was looking for just enough food to get by. . .to make ends meet.  But when he met the power of the Holy Ghost something was loosed on the inside of him.

“And he [Peter] took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength.”

When you act on the Word from the man of God, power is released into your life . . . it does not matter what your circumstances are. . .it doesn’t matter what anybody says. . .when you expect to receive from God, your situation begins to change.

Look what happens in verse 8:

“And he leaping up stood and walked, and entered with them into the temple, walking, and leaping, and praising God.”

When did the miracle take place for the beggar?

Did it happen just because he went to the temple?

Did it happen because he went every time the doors were opened?

Did it happen just because the disciples walked by?

NO, IT HAPPENED WHEN THE BEGGAR RAISED HIS EXPECTATIONS.  When he looked at and listened to the man of God, something began to happen.  The supernatural power of God was loosed into his life when he raised his expectations.  NOW, ISN’T IT YOUR TURN!

What do you expect to happen in your life TODAY?

Do you expect to experience the supernatural power of God working for you?

Do you expect the miraculous to be manifested in your life?  It’s time to raise your level of expectation!

1 Peter 2:9 says:

You are a “chosen generation, a royal priesthood. . .that ye should show forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light.”

Does it make sense that God would call you out of the darkness to live in sickness, lack, and bondage.  No. He called you out of the darkness into his marvelous light.  You can expect the best when you are in the presence of the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords.

Psalm 118:20 in the New Living Translation says:

“These gates lead to the presence of the Lord, and the godly enter there.”

When you are a child of the King, you are entitled to the benefits of the Kingdom.  It’s time for you to raise your expectations.

EXPECT GOD’S BEST and He will do the rest!

The beggar raised his level of expectation by reaching out to the man of God.  It’s your turn to reach out.

Step # 1REACH OUT for your Bible. . .and raise your level of expectation by underlining these two verses:

Psalm 62:5 says:

“My soul, wait thou only upon God, for my expectation is from him.”

Proverbs 3:1-2 in the Amplified Bible says:

“. . .forget not my law or teaching, but let your heart keep my commandments.

For length of days, and years of a life (worth living).”

Are you just living or do you do truly have a “life worth living?”  I want you to reach out expecting to receive God’s best.

Step # 2—REACH OUT to join your man of God in an anointed prayer of agreement by saying these powerful words:

“Father, right now, I bind every hindering spirit, trick, trap, lie and deception the enemy has planned for every person listening to this program or reading this blog.  I thank you the Holy Ghost is moving even as these words are being repeated in this prayer of agreement.  We agree that the just-getting-by type of thinking is gone forever.  We agree that just as the beggar moved in faith when the man of God spoke, that our viewers and readers are moving right now by faith to take off every limit.  In the powerful name of Jesus.  Hallelujah!  Amen!”

Step # 3—REACH OUT beyond your home to help win the lost, heal the sick and deliver the oppressed in the remote places of the earth.  Raise your expectations by manifesting the Great Commission in your life. . .”go ye therefore into all the earth preaching the gospel and making disciples.”  By stretching your faith. . .you are extending your outreach.

Step # 4—REACH OUT to immediately EXPECT GOD’S BEST.  Send me an email and list the areas where you want God to move in your life.

Move right now while the water is stirring (John 5:4-6).  Don’t hesitate or postpone this supernatural challenge.  Pray this pray with me.

“Father in the name of Jesus, I am reaching out just as the beggar reached out to Peter and John.  He obeyed the man of God and so am I.  Move my expectations to a new level. . .your level.  I ask that through the unction of the Holy Ghost you will help me raise my expectations up where they belong.  Right now, let me begin to lift levels of expectation.  Father, from now on I will always EXPECT YOUR BEST.  In the mighty name of Jesus.  Amen.”

I encourage you to visit our website and print out this teaching and especially this prayer.

Step # 5—REACH OUT and obey the man of God!  The beggar raised his expectations when Peter and John spoke to him.  He exercised his faith by reaching out to them. . .he obeyed the man of God.  When he moved in obedience the miracle hit his ankles and strength was released into his life.  He went walking, leaping and praising God.

“. . .believe ye his prophets, so shall ye prosper.”  2 Chronicles 20:20

Your expectations have been raised. . .now it’s time for you to obey your man of God.  My request is that YOU ask God what He would have you sow into our world outreach to help the Body of Christ get out of debt.  Listen to what God says your seed should be . . .then send it IMMEDIATELY.  That’s all I ask and that’s all God requires for obedience.

2 Corinthians 9:6 in the Amplified Bible says:

“. . .he who sows sparingly. . .will also reap sparingly. . .And he who sows generously and that blessings may come to someone, will also reap generously and with blessings.”

Step # 6--REACH OUT and expect God’s best response to the seed that you’ve sown.

Genesis 26:12 says:

“Then Isaac sowed in that land, and received in the same year an hundredfold: and the LORD blessed him.”

Step # 7—REACH OUT to your Heavenly Father with expectation.

Psalm 5:3 in the New International Version says:

“In the morning, O Lord, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait in expectation."

Psalm 62:5 says:

“My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him.”

Your expectation will determine your manifestation of His abundant blessings.
